Cell Wars Project Blog - 9/25/16

Cell Wars Project Blog: Mitochondria  Image  Summary This week, I have learned  plenty of things. For instance, I have learned about 8 different organelles when we watch the videos. My organelle was the Mitochondria. My organelle produces the energy of ATP. It has a double membrane. The other seven organelles, are Cell Wall, Cell Membrane, Cytoplasm, Chloroplast, Golgi Body, Lysosome, and the Endoplasmic. I learned that some organelle only help plants, some only helps humans, and some do both. For those organelles that help plants, some protects plants and things, like bacteria from going inside of the plants. For those organelles that help humans, some protect humans. Some also gives human energy and protein to help us stay healthy. As you can see, this week, I have learned  plenty of things. Backward Looking I probably knew some things before this project. For example, before this project, I knew that there were cells, and organelles. I knew t...

Mitochondria - 9/18/16

Weekly Blog: Victor Nguyen 7A Image Location Summary This week, I have done plenty of things. For example, at the beginning of the week, we were supposed to continue working on our Cell Wars project, but things got out of hand, so everybody started to assessments from the 7th grade Life Science textbook. After two class period of working on our bookwork, we finally went back to doing our Cell Wars project. Remember, my group and project is the Mitochondria. Our function is to produce the energy of the ATP. After many days of research, we started to do our poster, that wasn't so great and wasn't so bad. We turned it and got it back to hang on the wall. All is left, is to record our video. We didn't know what to record, so we thought of song, play, or showdown. Some of our peers decided don't, So we are currently trying to record the song and put the video together. As you can see, this week I have done plenty of things. SP2 : Developing and Using Models Just ...

Cells and Atoms - 9/11/16

Weekly Blog: Victor Nguyen 7A Image Image Location  Summary I learned many things in the past week. During, the do now, I learned that atoms is the fundamental structure of the orange juice, because the orange juice is non-living after the orange has been squeezed. There are two types of observations, quantitative and qualitative. A quantitative observation is observing the weight, length, etc. of an object. A qualitative observation is descriptions of an object. I also learned about organelle. My organelle is Mitochondrion. That organelle is doubled-membrane. As you can see, I learned many things. SP1 - Asking questions and defining problems This week, I was working with my organelle group. I formulate testable questions when I asked, "How does Mitochondria help humans and help plants?" Some other people also asked, "Where is the Mitochondria cells located?" As you can see, I chose SP1 because I did ask scientific questions, and also with m...

Scientific Method and Cells - 9/4/16

Image
Weekly Blog : Victor Nguyen 7A Image Image Location Summary This week, I learned a variety of things. For example, I first learned what the scientific method is. The scientific method is a series of steps that follow when performing an experiment. Then, I learned about the manipulated and responding variable. A manipulated variable is what you change during an experiment. A responding variable is what changes during an experiment. After that, we learned the difference between an observation and an inference. Lastly, we learned about cells and atoms. Cells are the smallest structures that make up all living things. The cell is basic unit of structure and organization in organism. All cells come from pre-existing cells. As you can see, I learned a variety of things. SP1: Asking Questions and Defining Problems This week, with some of my table group partners, we ask some scientific question, like 'Is this a manipulated or responding variable?' There were some times w...
