The Skeletal System

Human Body Redesign : The Skeletal System

Skeletal System

Body System Function:

The bones in the skeletal system is like a frame, or structure. It helps your muscles and organs connect. The skeletal systems is also an act of protection. This helps protect your skull and most of your internal organs. So, the skeletal system is like a frame and is protection.

Major Organs:

Bones: The skeleton is made up bones. Bones help you move your muscles.

Ligaments:
These are tough tissues that connect one bone to another.

Tendons:
This is equally tough tissues that connects your bones to your muscles.

Cartilages:
T
his protects the bones from rubbing against each other and creating pain.

Joints: This is where the bones meet.

Structure and Function:

Personally, I think the main function of the skeletal system is the cartilage. I think this because the protects the bones from moving around. In other words, it helps you move. Just because you have bones, doesn't mean you can move. You kinda need a cartilage in order to walk. It's like saying, you need gas in order to drive a car. Just because you have a car, doesn't mean you can drive it. The cartilage is like a jelly-like, hard, rubbery component. The cartilage is located in between bones. As you can see, I think the main function of the skeletal system is the cartilage.

Interactions with Other Systems:

The skeletal system doesn't work alone. It interacts with the muscular systems. Both muscles and bones are connected to each other. So when the muscle move, it moves bones from the skeletons, too. The skeleton is mainly made up of cartilage and bones, that also helps muscles. So as you can see, the skeletal system doesn't work alone.

Analogy

Dome
The skeletal system is like this dome because the dome has a sturdy structure. Like the skeletal systems, the dome also protects the internal structure.
The bones in the skeletal system is the pillars of the dome, because the pillars help keep the structure up.

Redesign

The amount of bones can be changed. For example, an adult usually has 206 bones total. Babies usually have more. But since, some kids either break their bones or fracturing it. Now, if you have more bones you can be more flexible without having to break the bone.
